PARENT INFORMATION REGARDING FUNDING

At Mucky Munchkins Childcare Ltd we offer Government Funding as follows: -

Up to 15 hours per week – 2 year old funding (benefit eligibility)
Available from April 2024. - Up to 15 hours per week- 2 year old funding (working families entitlement)
Available from September 2024. - Up to 15 hours per week- 9 months to 23 months old (working families entitlement)
Up to 15 hours per week- 3 year funding (universal offer- all children aged 3 & 4 years old are automatically entitled to up to 15 hours per week funding the term after they turn 3 or 4)
Up to 30 hours per week - 3 year funding (working families entitlement)
Available from September 2025. - Up to 30 hours per week- 2 year old funding & 9 to 23 month old funding (working families entitlement)

Government Funding is provided for 38 weeks of the year. As we are open all year round, 51 weeks of the year, all funding offered at Mucky Munchkins Childcare Ltd is stretched over the year. Parents pay privately for remaining hours which aren’t covered by the funding. We charge a consumables/sustainability fee*(*pro rata) which is payable during the times your child receives the funded hours . Parents are not charged for the funded hours provided for by the government and this is transparent and clear in all invoices.

Parents can check their eligibility for the above funding via https://www.gov.uk/get-free-childcare-if-youre-working and apply for the funding via https://childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk. Funding is offered to children the term after they turn the qualifying age i.e. a child turns 2 in February, will qualify from the April term.

What is Tax Free Childcare?

Parents will be able to open a new childcare account. For every £8 a parent pays into their childcare account, the government will pay in an extra £2. Parents can get up to £2000 government support per child per year towards their childcare costs – that’s up to £500 every 3 months. If they have a disabled child, they can receive up to £4000 per child – a total of £1000 every 3 months. They can then use this money to pay their childcare provider.

The government has started inviting parents to apply for Tax-Free Childcare beginning with parents of the youngest children first. Check whether Tax-Free Childcare is the best offer for you using the childcare calculator.

You’re usually eligible if all of the following apply:

Your child:

You (and your partner, if you have one):

are 16 or over
live or work in the UK
are employed or self-employed
are over 21 and earn on average at least £120 a week, unless in your first year of self-employment. Different rates apply if you’re under 21 or an apprentice
earn less than £100,000 a year each
don’t get other support with your childcare, including from a childcare voucher or salary sacrifice scheme
